Default Moving from Tampa to Anchorage-need reliable, economical movers

I currently have a quote of about $1.65 per pound for shipping my household goods from Florida to Alaska. I got that price from North American Movers. Does anyone know of a less expensive and yet safe method of transporting them?

    I'm avoiding using a U-haul because I don't want the hassle.

Will appreciate any information and suggestions.

    Thanks

If you want to save money, you'll have to ship your goods yourself. There is no economical way to move to AK, but it's worth whatever it cost.

One thing you might look into is a company called R&L trucking or transport. They will park a 20' ( pup ) trailer anywhere you load it they haul it. I'm not sure if they go to AK. Look them up online.
