Default Merino Wool-Best Buys

I've been trying to find the best online buys on merino wool underwear. Any suggestions?

This looks like about as cheap as I can find, but it never comes really cheap: http://www.amazingsocks.com/web-pid-...-Crew-item.htm

Well you have to spend plenty of time on the web (which shouldn't be a problem for you <grin>) but steep and cheap (SAC)has about the best merino deals I have ever found. I get probably 90% of ours from them. www.sierratradingpost.com is also a good place as is www.departmentofgoods.com (DOG). DOG is a clearance house for backcountry.com and a good bit of their stuff shows up on SAC as deals at even deeper discounts.

Make sure to set up an account w/ SAC before you try and buy something! Nothing sux like missing a great deal while trying to create one! The good deals go fast so spending some time researching the gear on DOG is a good investment as it is the most likely stuff to show up.

STP, DOG, SAC .... That's where the good deals are!

Best is relative. Do you want a camo color or does it even matter? I love my ASAT merino wool garments. Durable and not itchy. Plus I like their pattern. Because they are camo I do not need to wear them under anything. To each their own.

Sierra Trading Post is a good place to pick some up as well. Their e-mail club thingy is always sending out 30% off your purchase coupons. I buy almost all of my undergarments from there.

Good point Phish! I got a 35% off coupon a week or so ago and was frustrated when I couldn't find anything to buy! I don't have anywhere to get stuff shipped to at the moment since anything I get shipped to the wife in AL will have to be shipped again to get it back to AK. Frustrating as it is I have a logistical moratorium on internet purchases.

You can ship it to my house. I have plenty of room in the garage.

Don't tell me what's in the box. I'd hate for you to get all the reviews from your new stuff

I may have to take you up on that! Vince is still holding my reloading set for me, but I have a feeling it is all mounted to a bench in his house by now! Hunt_AK still has my EAA witness too now that I think of it (I keep waiting to see a youtube video of him shooting it show up) . I may have to have him pick up a rifle or two for me pretty soon as well!! ... Perhaps between him and Vince they will have the barrels broke in and couple loads worked up....

Good to have friends on the AOD!

Shoot me a line if you want. I wouldn't mind at all, well, as long as we are talking about a few packages. I don't want to store your two new couches, a refrigerator, and a broken down Chevy Impala.

I'll echo that Sierra Trading is where I have found a lot of great deals. Not only for me but for my wife as well. I bought some Smartwool bottoms from them a year ago for about $20.00.

STP is lacking on decent stuff for kids though for sure. Best prices I have fond on kids gear is DOG. Decent selection of merino stuff for them too and lots of it for about $20.

See Minus33.com. Their merino wool underwear appears to be significantly cheaper than most; however, I'm sorry I can't give you first-hand info on the quality of the garments.

+2 on Minus33. Holding up well. Warm. Good value too.
Hope Barney's restocks.

Backcountrygear.com has some merino tops "discounted"
