Default Decision made--got the new rod!!!

Thanks to all who helped me with the advice in the other thread. I finally pulled the trigger, and got a great setup. The guys at Three Rivers Fly and Tackle really hooked me up. I figured about 300 or less for the rod, to have enough for reel, line, etc.

Anyway--they hooked me up with a Sage VT2 8 wt., Lamson Guru 3.5, RIO Clouser line, backing, etc, and it all came in under my budget of 600 bucks!!!

Awesome rod--casts great. And the crew at Three Rivers couldn't be better!!!

Go to bed goober, you got school in the morning

Ask you English teacher if you should put a comma in front of "Duh" and if you should capitalize "sage" and "lamson".

If you are going to spend so much time on the forum, why not learn something

Have you polled all your cousins to make certain?

A side note, you may want to contact Sage and see what they would charge you for an extra tip section. Seems the going rate is about $80-130 depending on the company. The more remote you go, the more it matters, but I do like having a spare tip section. Or better yet, a spare rod. Often folks will pick up a moderately priced rod like an Echo or TFO to use as a back up. I also find great utility in buying an extra tip, being that it will almost always be the distal section that breaks.

Lake Creek--I don't think Sportsmans or Three Rivers has the Echo line, but Three Rivers made me the smokin deal on the Sage.

Check out Mossy's Fly Shop for Echo. I am pretty certain he sells that line. Mike will hook you up.
