    Default Lake fishing around Anchorage

Looking to take the canoe and the wife out today. Not wanting to fish any rivers, just looking for a spot on a lake where the fishing is decent. I'm not looking for anyone's honey hole, but just a lake around Anchorage where we may see some decent fishing (don't even need big fish, just a somewhat consistent bite). She'll probably be more concerned with taking pictures after the first hour or two, but just so I can say I tried...

    Any help is appreciated.

I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

If your Wife likes taking pic's I'd look at fishing Clunie, Waldon and Otter lakes on the base. Decent fishing and less crowds, more hassle due to being on base.

Little Campbell (aka Beercan) Lake in Kincaid Park is another good one. You can often see moose around there as well.

I agree with bartw, little campbell is nice. It's tucked away so it's nice and quiet, but the lake itself is smaller compared to Jewel Lake and Delong Lake.
