    Default Sheep pics

here is the first of the season, one more to go.
Unit 13, every lake has people on it, the overflow from the draw stuff in unit 14 is being felt pretty hard now. only a matter of time before it all goes draw. sad to see, still see alot of "sheep hunters" that aren't sheep hunters, keeping the resident success rate low and the sheep in areas where hard core guys can still get them.
nice sheep, 36.5" on the good side, 350 yards after about seven super excited misses.
25 year old canadian client on a cancelation hunt, by far the funnest sheep hunt i've ever done.
clients pack was 120lbs coming out 6 miles and mine was 110lbs...he wan't to carry his own horns...lol

Now there's a change; A Canadian coming to Alaska to hunt!

Good for him. Good for you. Good for everyone except me and that sheep, as a matter of fact!

    Thanks for sharing.

Yea, why does a Canuck come to the USA? Are the hunts here cheaper?

Awesome ram Jake. Bet it was a lot of fun running the mountains with someone in shape and willing to carry their own weight. Thanks for giving me some more motivation to go on my first ever real sheep hunt here in a couple weeks.

Nice looking couple! Sad to hear about the crowds. Hopefully it will die down after the opening push.

You're a fricking stud dude. You always pull through, huh? I'd love to have your job....does it leave you much time to hunt yourself, Jake? Just curious. Thanks for posting, your pictures and stories always motivate....

rarely do solo hunts, do enjoy a good deer hunt with my wife it time permits....ask alaska lanche about my hunts, he actually went on one with me. my job is good at time when you have good clients like this guy was, good attitude, good shape and there to have fun and enjoy himself..sheep being second priority..those are the fun hunts. some guys aren't fun and i wish i worked at mcdonalds....

Man, it looks like he really let the air out of that one. Great to hear about a hunter who really appreciates a spectacular trophy like that. Congrats to both of you.

I'm sure I'll be looking at a couple rams longingly again this year in the Brooks with only a caribou and wolf tag in my pocket. I've seen a couple dandies the past couple years.

    Great job, Jake!

Glad you filled your opening and were successful!

Wish I was up there this year with you myself.

Good luck with the rest of your hunts and hope all your clients are like this one!

    Hey Jake,

I was in line in front of you at F&G to get that guy sealed. Thought I recognized that sheep. Good job.
