The comments are epic!!! ... "Can't rejoice at such. So barbarous and primitive. No victory in ending in terror the life of such a long lived amphibian." Hahaha!

Those comments on the article cracked me up and sounded all to familiar. I would have easily considered myself well Left of center in college and might have sided more with the liberal leaning comments back then. 911 changed me, for some reason, and now I have to chuckle at the statements made by those who place animals on a higher plane than humans.

I also find it funny that the human use of tools (guns, "harpoons", fishing rods, etc) to subdue our prey is looked upon as unsporting by some. The bonobo monkey uses a stick as a tool to get at hidden termites, which it then eats. As screwed up as this world is, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that there are bonobos out there who berate their fellow chimpanzees who use sticks, because it's unsportsmanlike and doesn't give the termites a fair chance...

here's a perfect example from none other than PETA.

cause really it's okay to whip a human, just not a circus animal.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

140 feet of water too. Just goes to show deeper isn't always better.
