    Default how can i tell if my model 700 is an ADL or BDL version so i can order a new stock

    I'm trying to fix up an old .270 my bro-n-law gave me. How can I tell which stock to oder?

    Floor plate BLD no floor plate ADL
    Now left only to be a turd in the forrest and the circle will be complete.Use me as I have used you

    Look on the receiver or on the barrel........Or answer this question: What is in front of the trigger guard........? if nothing, just stock is there then it is "Blindbox" ADL, if there is a swing'open floor plate (door) it is a BDL. Also most BDL's have a black fore'end tip.

    Thanks for the quick replies and the info. I spent hours online and on the phone trying to find out. The best advice I got was to check here.

    detachable could be a 788, may be other models as well

    Detachable mag 700's are known as DBM. (Detachable box magazine). All 788's are detachable box, single column.700 ADL, blind box, no floorplate. 700 BDL and CDL are hinged floorplate, as are the 700 "classic" series.

    Wow, so the .30-06 bolter, with detacable 5rd mag wasn't a 700 but a 788...

    Ah, I just checked it's a 700 DBM...
