    Does anyone know of a priest maker in AK or the lower 48? Looking for something unique preferably made from antler

    The American term is FISH BONKER.
    Priest is the English term for said bonker.

    Here I always thought a priest maker was one of the Koslowsky twins that used to live in my neighborhood in Anchorage during the 70's. Lets just say they were kind of portly and leave it at that

    Sorry guys for the term Priest, it just makes it sound better. Something to make them do what I call the salmon shiver!!!

    Well somebody needs to tell google and wikipedia about this as they think its some find of catholic thing. Why didn't you just say you wanted a fish whacker. LOL Dave may bonk his fish but I like to whack mine.

    I took a few hickory hammer handles. i driled out the end and poured in a little lead. they work great for halibut. for salmon i did not pour in any lead. Cheap and they sure work good.

    The handle of a light fillet knife has never let me down. The blade has a nice pop and really does the trick.
