Default Place to take the boy...

Would like to take my son out this weekend. Someplace close to North Pole if possible. Maybe a place that the rest of the family would enjoy picnicing to. Any good ideas? I'd love for him to be able to catch a few to get the fever.

    thanks

The ponds across from the Eielson gate have lots of small stocked fish that are easy to catch.

Chena lake should work, should be able to catch him some little rainbows and the rest of the family should enjoy it.

Another vote for Chena Lake. I was up there a few days ago, camping with a friend. We rode our motorcycles there and stayed in the campground. I caught a couple rainbows off the pier. Take some shrimp or salmon eggs and you should be able to get your boy hooked. Pun intended).

The other 299,300,000 people can have it.

Noone has a more intimate understanding of, or deeper appreciation for freedom, than a soldier who has fought for it in a country where it does not exist.
