    Default Opening day countdown

Haven't seen the traditional opening day countdown yet, so I figured I would get it started.

    27 days to go.

I am trying out this mojo feeder for the first time. Gonna see if it works better than a jerk string. I have doubts that it will, but it's worth a shot.

I use the spinners as well, they work really well. I too have a problem forgetting about the string about half the time when I have birds working. When I do remember it, it seems to get them in really well. I want to try out my swan decoys more this year as well. The only fear I have with them, is flaring geese.

I have 11 days of work between now and then. Hope I have enough time to get ready. Now where to start. I think I may brake out the swan deeks this year also. They haven't had water on their butts for years. Duckslayer if you have geese deeks too, put the swans on one side 25,30 feet out and same with the geese on the other side you should be ok. As for my other tools, I'm not talking. Good luck to all.

A light weight over/under shooting 3.5" mags.....that will feel great after a few shots.

I need to do a bunch of work on the little mini boat this weekend. The dog is going to be awesome though after being in school all summer while I was out of town.

The citori weighs more than the 870 I used to shoot 3.5" out of... I could care less If I have a blue shoulder if I get to hunt ducks all day!

I have some goose floaters as well, If I have room I will give using both a try. I have read that if you put a few ducks around the swans it helps as well. I guess ducks will feed around them since swans can get food up from deeper down. Has anybody had any experience with this?

    26 day now

I'm pretty excited this year also. My boat is running good, just got a 5 hp mud buddy, and earlier picked up a 12 jon for $100 which is what I will be hunting in. Still need to build a blind for the 12 footer and get it set up to hunt out of, but I am counting on having a lot more quality shooting then what I have had in the past. And my beneli with the anti recoil gimmick is pretty good shooter, as long as I clean it every day and twice on the opening, Bud

I'm not worried, I'll put some big bear traps around it before I go.

I'm gona guess a banner year is anything that dosn't include sand. What you say DH01. Not sure but I will guess the water should be good maybe to good. Thats ok I go root out those SOBs in the farthest reaches because, I can. DH01 you been working on that calling. Oh thats right you don't need to practice. Maybe I can learn somthing this time.

Any year I get to hunt more than 10 days is a banner year

Jim/Mud/Gull/Swan Complex has pretty low water for this time of year. The Big Rock is sticking out about 12 inches still. Going to be a hard year out there in October for even the mud motor guys.
