    Default information on getting started

    im interested in doing some trapping. Whats a good book or info source to get started?

    Check out trapperman.com and go to the wildrness forum section. There is a link at the top o the page there to the Alaska trapping Association they have some very good books there you can purchase specific to trapping in AK.

    I can't say I ever thought of them as smelling fishy, they seem to have a smell all their own. Hitting a gland while skinning can be ugly but not near as ugly as mink or weasel IMO

    Pick up a copy of Alaska Trappers Manual. I used it when I started 2yrs ago and still use it for ideas on basic sets and tips. I second trappermann.com as well great reasource.

    Not sure your location. I have taken a class held by Ak Trap assoc. It was out at Beach Lake near Anchorage. I think in October. Check fo rtheir web site. Good class.
