    Default Burbot

I do a lot of fishing at Montana Creek and every year and when I fish bait off the bottom I usually catch a Burbot. I was wondering if there is a bait that works better for Burbot other than salmon eggs. One person told me to try chicken liver. So basically I am looking for suggestions and tips that might help increase my catch ratio. Thanks.

I think burbot are primarily fish eaters, so herring/hooligan might be good
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

AKPM nailed it. Burbot are not as much like catfish as a lot of people think. They prefer fish primarily and the fresher the better. Old stinky bait doesnt work near as well for them.

Thanks for the information. I will have to try some herring.
