I also drove by yesterday & saw 6 cars along the highway that appeared to be fishing.

We spoke to a Wildlife guy (sorry, have no idea what his official title was) and he'd been up each day to Quartz and said there's very few reds in it right now, so, in turn, very few rainbows, too. He said he'd never seen it so high or so cloudy. Hope it clears up soon!

Yup I'm useless, also Quartz is one of my favorite creeks and its being ruined by this website and everyone jumping on the quartz creek dolly bandwagon, so I won't be posting any useful information and I hope everyone else here won't post any useful information because people need to learn to explore and do things for themselves. It only take one or two anglers to ruin my day on that creek so if I discourage one guy from going I'm doing my job right. If you want to know how the fishing is then go fishing.

That being said it was high as of last week, one can usually tell what the levels around that area look like by looking at the graph from the kenai in cooper landing...

That creek is tiny and runs from a well used campground to a major highway, it is about as secret as the haul road caribou hunt. I enjoy fishing it but really it is usually a quick stop on a trip to somewhere else. Way to accessible to be anyone's honey hole. If I want to waste time lamenting lost honey holes then I would pick any of several parks highway streams that used to be hike in only but now have monster campgrounds and more people than fish. Quartz was never really hard to get to from the highway and access has been a breeze with the campground for decades now.

Where when and how I fish is different then everyone else... I keep that info well hidden and usually don't see a soul on that creek

That's the last thing we want a new bandwagon full of people ruining the secret Russian river and just to clarify I'm talking about the one in the Cooper landing area but I won't give any specifics beyond that so do not ask!!!

    Default ***?

I know people get really weird over fishin', period. But, your not feeding your family off of quartz are you?

Relax, take a breath and chill TFO. Its trout fishin' dudes. Just enjoy it, and stop pretending your a guide.

Besides, quartz creek sucks, much like anchorage! IF you think otherwise, stay in anchorage and go fishing.

So your telling them to go fishing when you just said you hope to discourage them from going to qc..............reverse psychology?

i just don't get why people act like that................
Even the few guide friends I have that I fish with are more then happy to tell people every thing, they just wont shut up, and with that being said why even get on this site??? I think really he gets on here to read the stuff people that know what they are doing write, and then throws his two cents in about what ever.
