This old prop...?
Anyone have any idea what type of set up would best utilize this prop???
It is a solas stainless steel D13 1/4 x 17 RN... It has no other markings or numbers on it...
It was given to me and I tried it on my Yam 115 (20' alum soft top)... It lugged the motor down and the performance was horrible. I pulled it and have had it sitting on my shelf for 3 years...
I'm looking to rid myself of it (swap-n-sell) but wanted to learn a little more about it before I put it up for sale...
Just google solas prop then visit their website....hit "contact us"...ask your questions.
Must have a heavy boat or your outboard is mounted too low on transom and dragging alot. I ran an F115 for years on a 22' flatbottom skiff and ran 19"-20" pitch props all the time. My dad's slightly larger boat uses an 18" pitch empty and with a medium sized load, a 17 pitch would be ideal for a large load but he is selling that boat soon and buying a smaller one. Price, these go for about $275 shipped on ebay new.
The emphasis is on accuracy
, not power!
just have it re-pitched its stainless
