    Default Harding ice field

My wife and I will be in Seward for a couple of days in August, and are interrested in doing the ranger guided hike that is offered on Saturdays. Has anyone ever done this hike, (with or without the guide), if so what kind of time might it take. We are both 30.

    thanks
cant wait to get up there

I have done the exit glacier/ harding ice field trail, and its pretty easy (for me), although it is up hill (about 2000ft gain over 3 miles. Hard to get lost, if you are paying attention to the signs and the trail, and there are info signs along the way. Of course there is the chance of meeting a black bear along the way. The hardest part of the trail is the weather, if it is rainy and windy expect it to get worse the higher you get, if it is good weather, there is no better trail. I have run it up, and it takes me about 90 minutes to reach the cabin, walking I would expect about double the time.
