    Default Always Wear Your Lifevest

    Tragedy has struck for the past two weeks on lakes and rivers and now most recently at the mouth of the Kenai. PLEASE always wear your lifevests!!!!!!

    Heart goes out to the family and friends of the person missing.

    Why isnt the crew in the picture of the article wearing life preservers? Or am I not seeing it right?

    I am well aware of that story, I aided in the search on the river that day. My question was regarding a tragic situation that the OP said happened at the mouth. That guy fell in 13 miles above the mouth.

    If you fish standing in the river a lot and think it doesn't look cool to wear a pfd, then you can get fishing vests that inflate with the pull of a string. I wear one and it looks like a regular vest. You never know when you're going to step into a hole, slip, or get off balance by the current and find yourself floating downstream.
