Thread: Battery Question

    Default Battery Question

I'm going to have a 50hp main and a 9.8 kicker on my project. Both have electric start. Do I need 2 starting batteries? I don't envision running both motors at the same time. Couldn't they just "get along" and share the same battery?

You will have no problem running both engines one at a time or together with one battery. The only reason you would need two batteries is if the one went dead and you could not start your engine by hand.

You could always use 1 battery and add a battery switch to isolate the two. Then you just turn your switch to whichever engine you are going to use.
