    Default Yentna Reds

Any word out there on the reds starting to creep in on the Yentna? We seen that they had set up the fish wheels the weekend of the 4th, but so far I'm not seeing any counts posted on the F&G website. They should be starting to show up in good numbers any day now!

I think they catch them in fish creek. It looks to be about a 120 mi round trip from Deshka landing and that is an $$$ expensive $$$ run in my boat. Does anyone know if it is worth it?

You make it sound like having 4 planes is cheap? How many of your own nickels have went to this cheap fishing?

20g a plane isnt that cheap, but much more enjoyable to fly. Selling 2 planes this week tho. Going to buy a Jet boat. Dad comes back from the middle east today so tommorow means a trip to lake creek.

Yeah, but how is the fishing? How big of a boat can run up fish creek and how far up do you have to go... or is that super secret?

Ill tell ya, We have a monster 24' barge up there that sits at skwetna. You normaly just fish at the mouth of fish creek. We have caught over 50 reds in one day ON SPINNERS while fishing for silvers. Fishing is good at the mouth. But dont go up fish creek unless you want pike.

Basicaly just go and fish the mouth. If no luck, Fish off of the gravel bar side oposite of the lodge at lake creek casting spinners upstream and retriving. Caught plenty of silvers that way. And one other thing, That is one of our best spots at lake creek and always done good there

Just got back from Fish creek and there were no reds yet. A ton of pinks though. Talked to f&g at the two fish wheels and they said they have seeen few reds so far.
