    Default Valdez self guided Halibut

We will have a small boat out of Valdez aug 15 - 19 inclusive. Wondering if anyone might provide some advise on locations to fish for halibut? I have the boat from Fish Central.
Also is there a company on Valdez that will can sport caught salmon?
How does silver fishing look this year?
    Many thanks

Silver are going to be in Hot and Heavy right in the Port Valdez. As far a Halibut. I dont think the FC boats are supposed to go out that far. I have caught Halibut in front of Sawmill in 105 foot of water and on the North Side of Jacks Bay in around 147 feet of water. Your not going to get a Derby winner there, but you may catch a few good eaters. We caught 6 last weekend between the two spot. Nothing of any size. But they sure tasted great.

    Good Luck.

Thanks, This is our 5th trip to Valdez. Always fished silvers but did a charter once for halibut. So thought this time to do some self halibut guiding too. Always been to Valdez the same week. Hard to describe to others what the silver fishing is like.
    Thanks again for the tips..
