It's a little early to start planning a hunt but...I don't know the first thing about hunting ducks or geese. The only ducks I've ever shot were jumped off of stock ponds in Arizona cattle country (and that was easily more than 15 years ago). My true love is upland hunting, but I'd like to branch out a little. I live in Palmer and drive through the flats everyday on my way to FT Rich, and I hear that this area offers pretty good opportunities. I'm pretty good with a shotgun, and have a strong enough back to lug a bag of decoys if someone is willing to take me under their wing and show me the ropes.

P.S. I've been eyeing those sandhill cranes I see off of Trunk Rd everyday too...

Hey, when you get it all figured out you can "pay it forward" and show me the ropes next season!

No problem...(if you ever get back here, I take it from some of your posts that you keep getting extended .)
