    check on sloughs for loafers and good grass cover in the summer. You might find a spot that ducks like more often than other spots. The problem is that there is enough water that once you shoot on one slough they won't come back. However, if there is good food and cover many ducks will know about it and you can get some shooting in.

    While out at Skwentna our work site was on a slough with a current and wigeon and white wing scoters would come through a couple of days a week. I think these were always the same pairs. One day there was a hen mallard that sat on the far shore and called all morning while preening. Another day a hen wigeon almost landed on my head.

    Ya Ive seen some nice flocks going to my bait station this year but they always seems to be on the sand bars
