    Default Denali Highway trip

These are some pics from a spot off the denali highway a couple years back. Ended up having a transmission go out on a rhino, sunk a wheeler in the creek towing pac rat full of gear, broke the hitch off in the process. Other than that, great fishing, good wheelin, really awesome beautiful place.

    Default Butte Lake

Been fishing there since I was 14...it's my fav Denali Hwy spot but it's tough to choose one awesome fishing hole over another. Hit it right at ice-out last time I went. There were 18-20" grayling in the ridiculously small creek feeding into the beaver dam where the trail empties out. The lake itself is teeming with them as well. Caught some decent lakers throwing larger panther martins, too. Total fish for that trip was just over 200 caught/released between three of us. The scenery and fishing are incredible! Can't wait to go back.

June and I are gonna base camp out of alpine the 2nd through the 5 of july. gonna head in friday early am from paxson. Thinking swede or landmark gap. Of course after a few quick catches on Tangle. Hit rock creek for a few casts then work our way to Maclaren to see susie and allen who were out witness's at our wedding up there. A snack at maclaren then head over to claude's place to meet up with Vince, a fire, beers and good whiskey. Bringing up the 4 wheelers with us so plan on hitting some areas I have never seen saturday and sunday for sure. Im hoping to have lots of pics and tons of fun. That place is Heaven on earth. Been running around it since I was 13 years old in 1978

I don't think many folks look at the ones online, but yours was actually printed in the paper.

Yep. Now I'm expecting a flood of letters to the editor complaining that ADN would publish a picture of someone so ugly on the front page of a section. We've got enough suffering in this world.

Im thinking about calling them. I have not seen it yet but I am guessing it cannot be pretty at all

For those wondering. That was at the end of rainbow alley, last saturday the 19th. I caught it and if you look you will see the blood on my forehead. I beat that fish hard with 3 wacks. One for my mom, one for my father in law and one for the Aces. I am still shocked and amazed about the paper thing. Just June and I doing what we love
