    Default AFF "Links"

Ak Fly Fishers used to have a good online archive of fly recipes - but looks like they dropped that feature.

Under "links" though, they list several sites (some posted already):
http://www.akflyfishers.net/page7/page7.html. Online Fly Tyer and Ak Fly Fishing sites have been mentioned. The Federation of Fly Fishers does too. The sites contain a lot of good information about materials and techniques as well as recipes.

The Ak Fly Fishers' book, Fly Patterns of Alaska, is in the AOD/OSA bookstore (and local fly fishing shops). If you can convince someone that you need a $50 gift book on the subject, Troy Leatherman and Tony Weaver wrote a beautifully illustrated book, Top Water, which I like (because it was a gift!) especially when looking to tie up something different -even fish like variety sometimes - but it's a little pricey.

    Good luck.

I imagine some of these streamers would be killer for pike.

Plenty of other good suggestions above. Good luck!

is wire the best thing to use for a leader, or do they make them specific for pike? My neighbor showed me a cool trick using 32lb test fishing wire, just wondering if anyone else has more ideas.

Here is a good site to get some ideas. Just click on a name and it is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you will get. Tight lines.

Default Have to do a little digging but...

I love www.oregonflyfishingblog.com . The videos there are great. It takes a little digging to go back in the archives for older videos, but once you're caught up, you'll probably be hooked on reading their blog and excited for the next tutorial!
