    Default August action...

Salt water fishing in Kodiak in August is terrific. All the bottom species are on, and the added plus is the silver fishing plus the ocassional king.

Fresh water will find Saltery the leader. Dollies will be all over, and silvers limited due to ADF&G bridge closings upstream from highway crossings until mid-September.

Overall, your timing is good for plenty of action...

    Default Great Timing

Probably the best timing for ocean fishing. There will be plenty of freshwater fishing for humpy's and an occassional silver from places like the old river, american river, and the buskin. Good luck.
