    Default Wifes first

Finally got the wife her first bear. She sat on the stand lastnight for about 3 hrs before this pig came in. It is 6'4" from nose to tail. She said she wants to rug it, we'll see. There were no rub spots on it but the belly area was a little thin. The rest of the coat looks good.

That is a great looking bear congrats to you and your wife on her first and I am glad you didn't have any other issues with aircraft buzzing you!

    Default Thanks guys

Just rolled out of bed after the long night and I've had time to think about it, "yeh right, she told me" it's off to get rugged. I like the price comparison above, one of the only things that was left out is the 8 boat launch fees worth about $200.
One things for sure, I couldn't ask for a better hunting partner. How many can say they have argued over who's animal goes where on the wall?

    bronco

It was unusually quiet last night for a Friday-Saturday not ever one boat and just one distant aircraft. We did get in the bait late, 9:30, but there is usually a few boaters and planes going by. But I'll take 1000 nights like the one we had last night over Thursdays fiasco!!

Very, very cool. There are few things better than accompanying your wife on her first harvest. For her to want to preserve the memory, well, that's icing on the cake. I don't have many mounts, but when my wife wanted to get a shoulder mount of her first caribou, I emphatically agreed.

Congratulations to you and the hunter!

Very nice looking bear!! Way to go. Now the fun part starts as she asks you every other day, "when will my rug be done?"..

Very nice bear and nice pics. Ditto the other posts on "lucky to have a wife that wants to hunt with you"!
If they mount your rug on dark felt it will mask thin spots well....
