    Default Weird Creature

Found a weird little Creature while pulling shrimp pots in Valdez just wanted to find out if anybody has saw it before. It looks like a mix between a crab a shrimp and a lobster. It has tha pinchers of a crab and the eyes and the point on the head like a shrimp and the wide tail of a lobster.

My buddy and I caught one of those a couple summers ago. Forgot what it is named. We just called it the crazy ocean bug thing.

    Default Squat Lobster

It is called a "Squat Lobster", though it related to crab not lobster.

    Default Tasty

A long time ago I ate some of those. A friend of mine in Ketchikan had bought some at a local store. They were marketing them as "crimps" a cross between crab and shrimp. It tasted like a crawdad IIRC.

    Default Crimp

We used to catch those all the time while shrimping in southeast. They were commonly refered to as crimp although Im not sure if that is their official name. Edible but hard to get any real meal out of them.
