    Default Small outboard repair

    Folks,

This is a new area for me and I'm NO outboard mechanic, so can ya recommend a place in the valley to take my lil 4 hp.

I could look it up in the yeller pages, but wouldn't know if I was getting a deal, getting ripped or if I was talking to a good reputable shop or not.

    Any help is appreciated,

    Thanks

    Default Not the Valley but

I have had excellent service, at a very fair price, from J Kimberly's on Arctic Blvd in Anchorage.
If I ever move out to the valley, I would still bring my outboards to them, but I work in town anyway.

J Kimberly has a great reputation. Not that anyone is immune to making a mistake or missing something, but they're knowledgable, haven't charged for work that's not been performed (more common in this State than folks might think), and they'll make 'er go as best as she can go, and tell you what's up if there's any remaining deficiencies, as when you get into older boat motors, parts, wear, etc., all have to be considered.

And despite their reputation for excellent work and service, you won't get the sense that you're dealing with folks who think they're royalty and above giving you their knowledge/expertise..

    In short; GOOD FOLKS!!
