Do any of you guys target char in the lakes here, or is that a bait fishing and trolling deal I have heard Campbell point and sand lake hold some nice sized char but mostly here of using herring to catch them. I am planning to head to sand lake for a first time since they restocked itand thought I might try to catch one just for a change of pace but I am not sure if the fly rod is an option for that ?

Caught a very nice char last summer out of Echo lake in Palmer. Was casting a 1/8 oz. kastmaster spoon thingie and the char hit it. 2-3 pound range. Nice fish.
