Default by george I figured it out!

Yup I have made a major step in my river rat life. I trouble shooted and figured out that the float in my carb was foul. So after I took apart the old 1988 35 HP mercury I found a cracked float in my carb.$12.90 and I'm on my way...problem is it will take marita sea and ski 10th day to get that part.....so anyone know where I can find a float that Isnt cracked faster? By the way I'm proud of myself If you cant tell.

Default Patch it until your new part comes in.

Epoxy will work as will a variety of other adhesives found in your local hardware store. How do I know? I used to live in the bush! Out there you can't just run down to the local shop, so you make do. I once watched my father-in-law make a fuel pump membrane from a piece of rain coat and it worked fine.

Obviously, you didnt see my response to your "starter bracket" thread..

What was the symptom that led you to find the cracked float?

I agree with Dirt on the marita thing, fwiw..

    Default rpm

Well after replacing the starter, I noticed I could down and up river great. But would have start having trouble starting at the fuel can change out. Well then there was the ridiculous amount of fuel pouring out the over flow valve......so I got fed up and figured if I owned the **** thing I should be able to fix it...all signs pointed to fuel......so I rippled the carb off 10.99 later I was good.
