    Default Paralyzed Veterans Take 23

The Paralyzed Veteran's hunt was a huge success this season. Taking 23 bears out of Tyonek. The first day of the hunt they had 3 bears down, by day 5 they were down 8. Closing their season with a total of 23 black bears.
I thought I would share some pictures with you guys.

Thank you for protecting and defending this great country.

    Lightbulb Donations

Jess at baitem907 isn't going to ask for help so I will will mention for her.

She donated thousands of dollars worth of baits and scents to the program and didn't ask for any advertising or recognition in return, I only know this because I got a little inside info, this program is a great service to our vetrens and is sponsored nation wide and alot of our country music and sports stars contribute also, although they recieve money from all over for us locals who have bennifited from Jess's kindness I think we should give through her. If she would allow us to sponser the hunt buy purchasing her products to be used on this hunt not only do the veterens get a great product for their hunt but jess is able to keep supporting everyones efforts as she has been doing all along.
Jess would you be willing to let us participate in this way?

Sorry Jess, as you know I had to go straight to Nashville after the 3 weeks at the bear hunt.

A great many of us owe you a tremendous thank you for all that you guys did to support the bear hunt once again this year. Every one of our wounded soldiers got a nice black bear and I thank you for that as without your baits we would not have had the bears. As you know I am already working on next year and I am going to have a nice surprise for you guys for all of your help making this hunt all that it has become. As you probably already know I have already lined up quite a number of country artists for next year, actually many more than can actually join in to hunt with the soldiers but better more than less. Aaron will of course be back with us but a few newbies as well to include a couple folks that are playing in the top 5 right now on the radio and I am very sure will still be at hunt time that the country listeners will know very well.

So next year Jess you guys better make it out to camp!

For those of you that do not already know, we will be taking 6-10 female purple heart soldiers bear hunting the first 2 weeks and as you might imagine everyone wants to take part and Jess I am hoping that you will be able to take part and assist, you and Brenda Valentine can sit with one of the hunters over your baits.

Thank you to everyone, Alaska has been such a tremendous supporter of our wounded soldier programs and I am looking forward to these programs continuing for many, many years to come for our heroes

Dang Skippy you can count me in next year Doug! I would be honored to get out there and get my hands dirty. The best part about inviting me is.... I am a scent lure myself. The scents are impregnated in my skin, hair and clothing I probably even exhale anise from my lungs (light a match and I've got a burn)

Look forward to seeing you in the fall for the moose hunt

Congrat's Doug on a mission well accomplished, those are memories that will last a lifetime. For anyone interested... I went on the hunt last year, Doug and the crew helped me in finding the confidence to again shoot a rifle after my injury. Not only did I shoot a rifle for the first time after Iraq, but learned how to effectively shoot it adapt-ably left handed. Thanks for the experience and memories Doug. If you need anything let me know. I'm still working on fishing skills this year... (not working out so well)

If you cant stand behind the troops in Iraq.. Feel free to stand in front of them.

    Doug,
Thanks for your permission to add a donation button to the website.
    http://www.baitem907.com/
This will go to purchase dog food and other items for upcoming hunts.

If anyone has any old hunting/fishing equipment or clothing they would like to donate please contact me. I would be more than happy to pick stuff up or you can contact Zack (RVN Veteran) 632-1273
    (any fish/camp/canoe/wadders)

I fished 6 rods out of a dumpster today. One of which still had a price tag on it!
