    Default wounded bear

This bear must have been fighting or something but he looks like he got beat up pretty good.

Maybe.......My guess is he got hit by a car or truck. Looks like he went skidding down the asphalt. We hit a lot of them on the Hope Road.

If he survives until next season and you come across this fella again, it'll be interesting to see how it healed and if the hair grew back in?

i dont know about car hits.... thats a good gash could have been caused by a tangle with a larger bear... and he has been rubbing real hard to try and get some releif on it.... bet the bugs have been all over him causing grief to no end...

Wish I could run into one on the road. Would save the climb up the mountain.

Well, it would not work if a lot of people did it......But if a guy took all the money, pain & suffering, labor, bug'bites, etc. and traded that for driving up and down the Hope Road and/or Palmer Creek Road at 30 MPH from 3:AM to 7:AM and/or 9:PM to 12:30AM I think he would see a fair amount of bears.
