Default Questions about hunter safety card

I have my younger brother of 14 coming up to fish and hunt with me this year. He had almost completed his hunter safety course in Oregon, but my mother could not find the location for his field day, which is the final part of the course. She is trying to get him in another day, but if he is not able to complete the field day does he need a hunter safety card to hunt in Alaska? I checked the regs and didn't see anything about youth hunters being required to have a hunters safety card. But I want to know for sure before I take him out.

You'll need that "card" as proof of successful completeion of the Hunter's saftey education.

On page 10 (of last year's regs) there are all sorts of info on hunters the age of 16 and what they need. Also, it points out that certain areas of the state mandate that ANY hunter, regardless of age need his Basic Hunters Education course.

So it depends on where you're going basically.

Thanks, I will read regs more carefully. Does anybody know if there are any classes being held in the anchorage, or valley areas. And who I can contact to get him in?
