    Default Which Klutina Campground?

King for a Day, Klutina Charters or Groves? Any advice which is more family/kid friendly? Any idea how much the sockeye charters cost? Anyone have a preference of one over the other? They're all expensive ($35/night +/-).

I was up there last year and was really impressed with any of them as far as "campgrounds" go. I think for a little privacy and I mean a little and close to the river groves might be your best bet. Just my .02

    Default Groves

I have been going to Groves the past six years and they have always been friendly. The saturday potluck is awsome. They have a few things the other campgrounds don't have. They have running water at the fish cleaning station, they have flushing toilets and showers and a nice fishing hole for kids to give it a try. Everyone has there preferance. They do not take reservations though first come first serve. You will be there at the peak run time for Reds.

    Default Klutina Salmon Charters

I sent you a PM. I think AlcanRon gets paid for advertising Groves??

Klutina Salmon Charters would be my pick.

    Haha...

I've stayed at all of them and each one has their perks.
King for a day allows ATVs to run at all hours of the night which really drives me nuts. Klutina Salmon Charters and Groves are both nice places with nice people.

Groves does has running water and showers if you have the need to pretty up before your drive home...

Klutina Salmon Charters is a great place also with plenty of fishing space right on the campground and they do take reservations..

    Fish On!
You know your not catching any fish when you start talking about the weather...

Thanks for the heads-up (and the pm Jedi)! We don't need hook-ups...we're self-contained in the motorhouse. Guess I'd rather not here wheelers running all night since I don't have one!

According to the campgrounds up there they are starting to see reds. They said they get fish from mid-June to mid-August.

we always stayed at king for a day.. tim... had the kids there when there were little things with out any issues.. just hand yours float coats to be near the water... thats the only real issues regardless of which side you camp on...

a kiddo (or anyone else for that matter) falls in... they ARE going for a ride

I always like Klutina Salmon Charters. The king charters are around 250 if I remember correctly. If fishing with kids, King for a Day might be easier, it is more shallow on that side and isn't running quite so fast. Sapper 27, are you taking Sapper 26 with you? He needs all the help he can get.

I'm heading down there on Friday. Numbers are increasing on the counts, so I would venture to say next week would be O.K.

Default Sapper 2-6 has left the building

AKHunterNP that's great! Sapper 2-6 left last week to Ft. Leonard Wood for his career course...wish he could've made it. I believe I need all the help I can get too! I'll be conducting Jedi training this weekend!
