    Default Flies for Kings??

I wanted to ping the community to see what would be a good selection of flies to take on float down Lake Creek for Kings. I just bought and assortment from www.Alaskaflyfishinggoods.com in their "Kings" selection. Any flies that are a must have that anyone has come across?? Sizes? Any thoughts or advise? Thanks!!

Weighted ELS, fireball and hairball leeches. Dark pink, purple, orange, black and chartreuse should work in that clear water and don't forget your trout flies. Have fun and tight lines.

Thanks for the insight. I just got a slough of decent flies, all the same you described. Hopefully I picked the right ones since we will be floating Lake Creek for five days Hopefully I bought what they are going to be biting!!! No place to drop in and grab flies out there!!! Thanks again.

Grab a few Fat Freddies and a handfull of green yarn just in case you run out of everything else...

Will do, didn't think about throwing flies together while I was out there either. I figure yarn and some #4 hooks will be a must have. Thanks!

if you are going to just use yarn, I would go a little bigger that #4 hooks. There is nothing worse than hooking a king and loosing it because your hook bent or just pops out. Try going 2-2/0, some will even say bigger.

We caught 7 kings at the mouth . Two 25lb kings, 3 11lb bucks and a smaller 5lb jack. Seems like trout is going to be good around this time. Hope you do good from Chelatna lake!

    Default Lake creek!!

Man, Lake Creek was a blast! We floated from the Chelatna down to the mouth and cought probaby 80 Bows and 20+ grayling. The kings were all really low though We were hoping to camp at Yenlo creek and just have them all to ourselves!! We just went too early and they were a bit behind, oh well, still had a blast. All the rain we had made for some interesting class III and IV rapids though!! We got to the mouth on Friday and all the good holes and camping was already taken up. Managed one jack, but I think that was due to not being able to get a good hole and had the wrong tackle. Oh well, I will know for next time.

Lake Creek Fisherman- your a lucky dude to have a flight and boat to fish up there, it was great!!
