Default First moose calf a dead one

We were walking into the bait site the 26th and found the remaims of new born calf that was probaly killed the day before. Sucks when the first calf of the year you see is a dead one.

That had to be a sad sight to see. We have seen 2 sets of very small calf prints where we hunt. I am sure with all the browns out there they won't make it long.

Had a cow and two small calves try to cross the road in front of me a week ago. I was only about a mile away from the trail head to my bait site. Hopefully I can take care of a few bears for them
