Thread: Situk/Cutts?

    Default Situk/Cutts?

I am going to be driving a boat from Juneau to Whittier pretty soon. Probably going to leave Juneau sometime close to the 4th. Are there any steelhead still in the Situk? Are there any other good fly fishing opportunities on the route I am going? I would love to catch a Cutthroat or two because I never have.
    Any info would be awesome!
    Thanks,
    Riley

A dude from work went last week. While it was raining the fish were thick, tough fishing when the sun was out. I think he said he went 7 for 16 in 5 days.

He didn't say anything about any cutts.

I dont know about the steelhead, but I would imagine there is at least a couple of fish in there year round, considering the huge spring and fall runs.

If you have any time to spend in Juneau, Ive got some ideas for cutts...PM me

Thanks for the updates! I think I will have to swing some flies for at least a couple hours.

The Situk doesn't have cutts, every other stream around there does. There's some pike in the post office ponds in Yakutat.
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.
