Default Public riding near Byers Lake

We're camping for the weekend with some friends at Byers Lake - north of Talkeetna near Denali. I'm not super excited as Byer's Lake has always struck me as a very refined campground - put me in the sticks.

Anyways, I'm thinking of dragging the machines along, but only if there are some okay trails to explore within a 10 mile drive or so, up or down the highway. Petersville is way too far away.

    Thanks!

Nope.. it's over 15 miles either way to get out of the State Park.

Pretty much all the trails north of Trapper Creek to the Chulitna lead to cabins. I don't know about the trails they groom in the winter, but I imagine most of that is impassable.

Probably the Igloo would be the best bet then...
