Default How do you carry your gun when fishing?

I've searched through the forums and found endless debates on handgun vs shotgun vs rifle when it comes to bear protection when fishing. I do not want to start another thread on the subject.

What I am curious about is how do you carry your gun when you are fishing.

For handgun (44mag) I think I am going to go with the Sportsman Chest Holster (http://alaskasportsmanproducts.com) since it seems to be the best of not being in the way when I am fly fishing.

I am stumped on shotgun and rifle carry. I've seen some nice tacticool straps in 1 point and 2 point (https://www.rockymountaintactical.net). But seems out of place when fishing. I guess I could go with the Sportsman back holder as well. How do you carry them on your back or do you just leave them on shore? A standard shoulder strap would work but would get very uncomfortable when fishing after a while.

I use a chest holster and have carried my .44mag this way for many years.

Try here for any chest holster.

Mine is another brand but it's functionally identical to that tactical holster. Holds the .44 nicely along with a speed loader or two.

I carry mine loaded! I've been carrying in a hip holster and saving up for a diamond D chest rig. No more wet gun and awkwardness!
