    Default Homer Success!

Got my wife and kids out on the boat with Coho Dave "Muttley Crew" was an awesome day for sure. granted the kids had to go back in because they got a lil scared for their first time out on a boat, had a blast non the less got out to one of his spots dropped down and caught a nice cod then seconds later wife hooked a nice halibut. total 1 butt, 3 cod, and 3 rock fish also the day earlier to get the kids in the mix and catch some fish from shore we got into 2 cod, 30 pollick, 6 irish lords and 15 flounder. Dave was def outstanding, very easy going and didnt care to fulfill our demands. definetly gonna give him some repeat business! Also his dog was good to boot and great with my kids. ps penny he still owes you a cookie! once again great 2 days of fishing hats off to you dave!

    Thanks for the report.

Did you keep those cod or pollock caught from shore? If so, how were they when you filleted them?

    Default All those Fish

    Yeah 900, good job Dad,

Great to see someone taking advantage of all that variety down there and getting his entire family in on the fun.

Gotta think those kids will appreciate all the more the incredible diversity of the ocean with Dad taking pictures of "their trophies," like that.

Thanks for posting all the pics, reminding me to do the same with all the fish they catch, what Fun

Yeah...we were down there last summer, several dads out on a boat catching halibut and rockfish, while a mom took one of the kids off the spit. He was so proud of the pollock he caught, I went ahead and filleted it out for him and picked out the surprisingly few worms. He gamely ate it, grilled with butter and lemon pepper, while we gamely ate our rockfish. I don't think he went back for seconds, though.

Man... those pictures of your kids are priceless. Nice job getting them some fish and making a good time of it! I'll bet their hooked for life now. Completely awesome. Glad you had a fun trip, and that Muttley provided a nice day out on the water. Good stuff!

And dangit! all the time I've spent on or near the water, I've yet to see a killer whale. me = jealous

Thanks hippie. I did everything I possibly could to get them into some fish. It was pretty rough out there, but the fish we got obviously made up for the hard times we had to endure. It's nice when I can show people a good time despite the bad.

As I said on the phone last night 900 fusion. I was glad to see the smiles on the family's faces.

Doing something together, even under less than optimal conditions, is the important part.

Enjoyed the conversation, and I hope it was helpful.
