Tangle Lakes is going to need a pretty heavy fly to break through the ice. I'm assuming, haven't been there this spring. Usually first week of June would be a better bet.

Give a call to the tangle river inn and see if anything has opened up. Usually fist week of june to mid june before the lakes open there.

tangles definitely not open, same for fielding and paxson lakes. Don't think they will be open this coming weekend either as the ice was quite thick.

Spent 3 days in the copper basin last week chasing grayling in the flowing waters but things were slow.

Would recommend sticking with the chena / chat for 2 more weeks.

Tangle lakes are pretty much solid except where the streams are flowing out of them. This was as of last Saturday and more snow was falling when I went by.

Well fairbanks is outta range now... Rode up to tangle for a normal camping day. Tangle river flowing into the lake was open and caught some fish. Hiked like 3 miles up rock creek and found some grayling. Idk were to fish this weekend? Any suggestions?
