I don't count gifts in my list here, and this is the order I got them:

Air Gun: Gamo Cadet Delt break barrel pellet gun
Rimfire: Ruger Single Six 6.5" blued (22LR/22Mag)
    Auto Pistol: Bersa Thunder 380
Revolver: Ruger Bisley SS 45 Colt 5.5"
    Rifle: Remington 700 300RUM 26" LSS
    Defense Pistol: Springfield 1911 G.I.

That is actually all the guns I have bought. The Model Seven 243 was given to me, and the Marlin 75-20 was given to me. Both for Christmas.

    Wow, I need a shotgun.

    Default First guns

Benjamin pump .22 single shot pellet rifle. Had to share this one with three little brothers. I was 10 when we got this one.

Winchester 190 Carbine, .22 semi auto. $20 used out of Clegg's Furniture with my first ever summer job paycheck. 12 years old.

Belgian Browning BLR, .308, Weaver K4. Christmas present from my Parents the year I turned 18.

Remington 1100 SB Skeet, 12 ga., 26" skeet choke. Used this one to compete in a skeet league after I went in the Air Force. 19 years old.

High Standard HD Military .22 LR semi automatic. Packed this one moving irrigation pipe and bucking hay out on the desert. Gave $60 for this gun, and killed a BUNCH of Diamondback rattlers, rock chucks and jackrabbits with this till I graduated to a .357 and started handloading. Bought this one when I was 14.

Colt Trooper Mk III, blue, 6" .357 Mag. Bought this gun new shortly after I turned sixteen. Used this revolver until I flat wore it out and traded it for the first Ruger Mini-14 in the Snake River Valley. Dumb move.

Not to say that I didn't have experience with other pieces prior. I used Dad and Granddad's Browning A5 12 ga, and Fulton 12 ga double, Dad's 1917 Enfield and 760 Remington, as well as Dad's 74 Winchester .22 semi-auto, and Granddad's single shot Stevens .22, AND, Dad's 6" S&W Highway Patrolman......and anything else I could get my hands on!

I only counted my AMT lightning 10/22 as a wedding gift but purchased with my money, as I also bought one for her too!

I still have all of these first guns and have never sold any of them, too many good memories.

It's kinda neat heading back down memory road. I don't really remember a bunch of the other shootin irons that came and went. But the first few when you are a kid really engrave themselves into your soul. Even if they were not the super best in the world at the time...
