Default Lake trout fishing in the interior

I just finished grad school so I'd like to celebrate with some laker fishing in the interior. I'll be fishing with 1 other fella (a prof at UAF), and we will have a boat. Where should we go? Harding? Paxson? Summit? I'm coming from Fairbanks, but I don't mind driving around 3 hours each way. Thanks in advance.

    Tight lines

Don't do it man.... it is addicting.

Don't expect the lakes that you are referring to to be open until at least the first weekend in June. Only 1 in 4 is Lake Louise open for Memorial Day. Not saying that you shouldn't check. Just don't count on it.

If you find them and they are not hitting, move on to the same structure and keep trying. Circle back after several hours to see if they need a sammich.

    Thanks for the info, Mike.

Are there laker fisheries open within 3 hours of Fairbanks?

Just called Paxson and the lake still has ice. I have to imagine Summit still has ice too.

Is there any non-grayling fishing within 3 hours of fbks?
