    Default Clamming in the rain?

    Hey guys,

If there is a decent rain out, is it harder to see the holes for clamming?

I took an earlier flight specifically to go clamming this monday, and it seems like it might be raining.

Has anyone ever done it in the rain?

Hope its just a small drizzle.

    thanks

First of all, the forecast for Monday means absolutely nothing at this point, four days out. Start looking at the forecast two days out, and never trust it until, oh....about 15 minutes prior.

If it does rain, it is rare that we get rain that would be hard enough to obliterate the dimples that you'd be looking for. I highly doubt that it would have any effect on your ability to find clams. On a positive note, it might cut down on the competition...but even there, I don't think you have much to be concerned about in May.

    See you Sunday!

When clamming in the rain you need a good Clam Gun, the Clam Gun should come with a low powered scope to aid in finding the little holes. Now, remember to get scope covers, get the see through type, yellow works best in rain and fog. The clam Gun will not work for bears, and there is a bear behind every bush (accept when hunting for one).

The way I figure it, you may as well clam in the rain.

You get wet and muddy either way.
