    Default Question?

If you happened upon a trail that someone else has cut in and they don't seem to use it all the time, is it alright to use that trail , if you cut off it to make your own?

    Default Public or Private

If it's on public property it's not their trail. However, if it leads to a registered bait station you need to mind your distance.

it doesnt have any signs for a bait. i looks like it is a trail for either trapping, or for moose hunting. i think it's trapping.

Agreed, if it's not private property or native land then use the trail all you like, just because someone made a trail through the woods doesn't make it theirs.

    Default Hmmmm.....

I was just pointing out that he needs to keep an eye out for baiting stations. They should be well marked and he should maintain a respectable distance from someone else's operation.

i would be pissed if some guy took the bears i have put the work and time in to hunt. like i said it doesnt appear that this trail is being used for baiting. i am going to put up 2 new bait sites off the trail. thanks everyone.

I know nothing about bait trails, but If its a trapping trail, travle it but dont trap it, is the ethic I know.
