The Kachemak Gun Club's annual MAUSER MATCH is scheduled to be held May 22, 2010 at the Kachemak Gun Club range which is just south of Anchor Point.
Open to any bolt action issue MILITARY rifle.
It will be 30 rounds at 100 yards. 10 standing without sling, 10 knelling (I think the sling is allowed here) and 10 prone.
In the past the Match has been won by Swede Mausers, Swiss K-31s and old 1890s vintage Mausers. I have seen folks compete with Enfields, French MAS, and other such rifles.
The warm-up shooting starts around 0900 and the pre-match briefing starts at 1000.
Rumor has it that somebody will bring a barbecue.
Here is a photo of the Trophy which usually stays at the Kachemak Gear Shed.
