ASAA State 3D.....Menard Sports Complex, May 15th-16th
May 15th and 16th will be the ASAA State unmarked yardage 3D. It will be held at the Menard Sports Complex, the same location that the SpringBear shoot was held. Screamin Eagle Archery will be hosting the shoot.
We are trying to get 40 targets out,....there may have to be a number of stakes that have more than one shot (at different targets and different distances) Even when there were 33 targets out at the Spring Bear, it was pretty 'tight' in some areas. this thursday and friday we will be setting up the shoot, any volunteers that have any time around afternoon on those days feel free to contact Wayne at Screamin Eagle (376 2699) if you want to help out.
Lunch will be available. Distances will be from close, out to around 50 yards, give or take a few, per NFAA rules. This is a traditional 3D, no orange spots, we will using the 25 brand new Rhinehart targets that the ASAA just purchased this year. Thanks to all the ASAA members for your membership fee's and thank you to all who attend our shoots,...the money raised makes these shoots possible!!!
Rangefinders are allowed in a range-finder class, you are welcome to use them if you would like, but you will not be elgible for State Championship patches or metals. This is the State Unmarked 3D Championship. But it is also a fun shoot, and we want to encourage everyone to attend, whether it be for family fun, practice for hunting, and or just good general archery practice. Please help spread the word. See you there, Harry
Ok the coarse is being layed out nicely. we will have about 10 stakes that will have 2 targets at them, different distances of coarse. It is going to be a fun and challenging coarse. This should be a 'carry your bow with you' walk through coarse (no back tracking) shoot the target, carry bow to target, score arrows, and follow blue ribbon to next shooting stake. The trail will be marked with blue ribbon and easy to follow. We utilized the limited amount of space we have to make this a fun and safe layout. As with any outdoor shoot it is important to not 'sky-draw' your bow. Draw the bow level, or 'on-target' and there will be no potential problems with safety on this coarse. we will have 40 targets out, registration is between 8am and around noon. as soon as you register you will be free to hit the trail and kill some foam!! it should only take about 4 hours to complete the coarse. must be done by 6pm. this will allow people who attend church to be able to make this shoot. the distance will vary from close to around the NFAA max of 50 yards + or - a few. scoring will be 12 10 8 5. see you there.
