    Default If you were hunting blackies this weekend...

    Where would you be hunting? What general areas (from Anchorage) would you expect to offer the best chance at a black bear early in the season? No boats, no machines; just a pickup and plenty of ambition. Why would you choose the area you did?

    I would go to the woods, I read somewhere that bears poop in the woods and it seems like that would be a good opportunity to catch em off guard!

    walk up palmer creek road from the gate all the way to timberline past the hairpin turns. the only company you will have is the few who ride their wheelers in there illegally.

    3 were seen past the eagle river nature center last weekend 13 miles in though
