    Default Valley Lakes?

Anybody hit any lakes in the Mat-Su lately? Is there any water open or worth exploring? A coworker of mine has two float tubes, I'm looking to catch something on lightweight gear...Thanks for any info...

Lucille is open, but just about everywhere else is still froze up. Meadow lakes are starting lose ice.

Kepler Bradley had a couple of trout rising in a little patch of open water 4/24. We landed one and had a couple little guys on bh buggers that my 5 year couldn't keep the line tight enough to land, but he had fun fighting them.

There were some toons (visible from the highway) out on Loberg lake this afternoon.

Which toons? Bugs, Elmer Fudd, Jessica Rabbit? I'm dying to know!

There are a number of them in the Kepler Bradley area completely ice free.

The lakes are open in the meadowlakes area. That usually means Nancy lake area in another week.

FWIW, it looked pretty frozen on Monday.

I scouted Canoe, Irene, Long, and Finger lakes this past Sunday. Finger was essentially ice free as far as I could see from the campground public access area, where lots of folks had lines wet. Canoe looked about ½-to-⅔ clear. Irene was up to ½-clear. Long was still pretty locked up except for the eastern ¼.

    Default no more ice

Most valley lakes are ice free. I got on one yesterday and caught two very plump 18" dollies.

Agreed. I was catching fish on Canoe Lake the other day and didn't see any ice... I did scout out Long Lake afterwards and I there is still some ice down by the end of the trail that would prevent me from launching my float tube, but the majority of it is clear.

Took me three days to think of something clever to say:
Pepe le pew. Last time I went fishing, I was skunked

    Talking Scott

you need to spend less time on the "snappy" comebacks or get yourself a life. Or maybe just spend more time fishing.
