Default Sticker to identify AOD members?

When I was launching and recovering at Whittier saturday I was looking at the other boats and wondering if they were on the forum and if so who were they?

I thought it might be cool if there was a AOD sticker, it would also serve as a ice breaker and conversation starter, boat owners are always eager to talk about boats - just get them started.

If you board the wrong train, it is no use running along the corridor in the other direction.

You should be able to get into some rockfish around the islands on the S end of Culross passage. Drift between the various islands and you should hook a few. Just beware as it can get real shallow and your boat can drift close to shore while getting excited fishing. Also try the bay on the South end of Perry island, there are some rock piles that are worth drifting for rock fish.

Other then that, you'll likely have to head well out into the sound to get into better fishing.

An ODD burgee (fancy name for a flag) might be easier to see from a distance than a sticker.

I like the idea of a little flag - maybe silver and red? A logo that says "I'm an ODDity"

They are relatively cheap, especially if you setup a group buy...hint, hint.

What the heck, I'll do it. I'm artistically stunted though so anything like an artwork logo is beyond me. A simple design, a few words and a two-tone flag I can coordinate.

I'll give the company a ring and find out what needs to happen.

    Price for each:
    10”X15” 6-24 flags $14.95 ea 25-49 $14.45 ea 50-99 $13.95ea 100-199 $13.45 ea Plus a 50 dollar design fee.

I'm thinking a new sticky thread would be warranted for sign-ups.

What do you want as the logo/design? My ODDity quip was supposed to be funny, I like the red and silver since I those colors remind me of fishing (silver fish, red blood)

    Default Design considerations

    According to this page: http://www.burgeeshoppe.com/FlagDesign.htm

It should be simple, little or no lettering, and only a few colors. They also say boats of 20 to 30 feet should use a 12"x18" flag.

I messed around w/ powerpoint for a few mins, something like these, keep in mind any lettering will be reversed on the back?

I'll need to coordinate w/ the site owner.

I have a US flag I carry from last year's fourth of July in Seward. It is a bit smaller than what you have, but the thing I like is that it came on a wood stick so that I can just put it in a pole holder when I want it out. The same idea may work well for this.

Heck, this would be a good promotional thing for ODD, they should give them to us. They should be selective though, possibily limiting it to those with some number of posts (449 or more would be my suggestion).

I like it. Simple is good. Much easier to see than a sticker. Plus, I like the idea that if you aren't "in the know" you will be clueless. I bet the ODD store would stock some.

    Talking Flag

I like the flag idea. If it flies (pun intended) I'm in for one.
