    Default Launch Wheels problem

With a new transom, what kind of drill bit (and more importantly where can I get one) do you use to drill the hole to mount the lower tab that the launch wheels hook into?

The shaft that sits in the transom is .686" in diameter then it tapers towards the end up to .848 (might have a couple numbers off from memory but you get the idea).

I can't seem to come up with the right drills for this. Seems someone must make a tapered drill bit made for these.......??????

    Default nope

I have several step bits. The "plug" (for lack of a better term) is straight at the .686" for about 1/2 inch and then it tapers up to the .868" number in about 1/4 inch.

The plug has a screw that enters from the interior of the transom into the plug. The plug is installed from the outside of the transom.
